In addition to almost block diagonal linear systems, I have also studied the high performance and parallel solution to other structured linear systems. This research is still in progress, and is enabled by my computer time grant from NCSA. In the meantime, as an outgrowth of the Minisymposium I have organized at the ICIAM'95 in Hamburg, I have co-edited a volume High Performance Solution to Structured Matrix Problems with P. Arbenz, A.
