We are delighted to receive the news of another award for Professor Janusz KACPRZYK. He has been named the laureate of the IFSA Award for LONG TERM PIONEERING CONTRIBUTIONS, the highest distinction granted by the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA).
This award was granted to Professor Janusz Kacprzyk for his long-standing research in the field of fuzzy set theory, as well as for introducing and developing numerous innovative concepts that have inspired many scientists and enriched world science.
The awarding of prizes to Professor Janusz Kacprzyk and Professor Ronald R. Yager was announced during the 2025 IFSA World Congress and NAFIPS Annual Meeting, which took place in Canada.
It is worth noting that Prof. R.R. Yager is one of the most renowned scientists in the world (Hirsch index according to Google Scholar: 138), particularly in the field of fuzzy set theory, where he has inspired countless researchers across the globe. He is also well known in Poland, where he has visited many times, including at our institute—through collaboration with Professor Janusz Kacprzyk and his team.
