I am a theoretical physicist with strong interdisciplinary interests. My early steps in particle physics were about the understanding of matter at its most fundamental level. Now I contribute my time to address the global environmental challenges of our times. Both my postdoc at IIASA as well as popularising science and social involvement taught me how much there is to be done and how exciting it is!

My present research interests focus on modelling of ecosystems and physics of networks. I am also interested in understanding the dynamics of transitions in complex systems and possible applications of complex ecology to other fields, such as economy and history.

I have completed my PhD studies in the Chair of Electroweak and Strong Interactions, Institute of Theoretical Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw . I have pursued research on phenomenology of fundamental interactions beyond the Standard Model. The underlying mathematical structure of the theory can be made simpler and more consistent within supersymmetric grand unified theories. Technically, I studied how the SU(5) Yukawa matrix unification can be realised within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model.

In my master thesis I have classified dimension-six effective operators in the Standard Model: "Classiffication of higher-dimensional operators in the Standard Model" (in Polish), July 2010. It is an honor to have been able to positively influence so much research on effective theories beyond the Standard Model!
