ABSTRACT
Monte Carlo simulations are used to model the absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of alkali metals (sodium) matrix isolated in rare gas (argon) solids. The technique has made possible testing of many assumptions about the system, including trapping site geometry and vibrational structure. Model features and advantages and disadvantages compared with other methods will be discussed. Some model results will be presented.
