A new fluid permeability estimation in nonoverlapping and overlapping spheres model porous media

ABSTRACT

A new fluid permeability estimation method in nonoverlapping and overlapping monosized spheres porous media will be presented. The new method is based on the combination of Wiegel's translational diffusion coefficient of a uniform macromolecular spherical model and an excellent approximation for the translational scalar friction related to electrical capacitance. For sphere packings, random sequential addition is used. To get the electrical capacitance, the first-passage algorithm by Given, Hubbard, and Douglas is used.
