Chaos from a statistical point of view

ABSTRACT

Chaos in the deterministical sense may not be so in the probabilistical sense. We introduce the concept of Frobenius-Perron operators to study the statistical properties of chaotic deterministic dynamical systems. Ulam's idea on computing fixed densities of Frobenius-Perron operators will be presented.
