ABSTRACT

This presentation will describe the hardware and software protocol standardization used in Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI). An introduction to physical modeling synthesis will be given along with a short performance using MIDI sequencing and live performance using a virtual acoustic tone generator that uses the technique of physical modeling.
